Parc at Buckhead Wins Gold Award of the "2007 Best of 50+ Housing Awards” Presented by the National Association of Home Builders Luxurious Living Environment for Active Adults Incorporates Amenities and Services of World-Class Hotels along with Recreational and Entertainment Programs

ATLANTA... The National Association of Home Builders has tapped an Atlanta development as the recipient of the highest accolade of its "2007 Best of 50+ Housing Awards” for a Congregate-Independent Living Community. At the NAHB "Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium” held in Denver, Colorado, Roy Dickson, the visionary developer and President of Parc Communities, accepted the "Gold Award” for Parc at Buckhead, the luxurious high-rise tower and living environment for active adults age 55 and up. Nearing completion on Phipps Boulevard, opposite Phipps Plaza, the 20-story Parc at Buckhead, with 193 apartments for lease, offers the amenities and services of the finest world-class hotels as well as what Roy Dickson calls "the ultimate lifestyle experience of recreational, entertainment, arts, continuing educational and fitness programs orchestrated by two full-time Club Directors. No capital investment or long-term contracts are required to savor life at Parc at Buckhead.”
Criteria upon which the Gold Award was based included site, design, innovation and opportunities for adults over age 50 to remain active. According to Anne Ladewig of the 50+ Housing Council and a member of the Judges Committee, Parc at Buckhead "provides a unique approach for senior housing in an affluent market. Engineered to maximize the potential of the site, the pool, exercise and other amenities encourage seniors to remain active.” Ms. Ladewig referenced the "well-executed architecture and interiors.”
Parc at Buckhead’s classical design was created by architect Michael Corcoran of The Corcoran Ota Group, Inc. An impressive entrance opens to the elaborate Grand Lobby and formal rooms, an elegant full-service dining room with cuisine created by chefs from the Culinary Institute of America, a bistro café, cocktail lounge, heated 3-lane lap swimming pool and Jacuzzi, aerobics and state-of-the-art fitness spa, sauna and a theatre-style media center. Design Services, Inc. is fashioning the interiors, with Park Landscape Services, Inc. designing the terraced gardens and landscape. Construction by Choate Construction Company has adhered to schedule, with opening slated for this fall, in November, 2007.
Floor plans from one to two bedroom apartments as well as studios vary from over 600 to just under 2,000 square feet, all with finely crafted moldings, interior detailing, granite countertops, and ceilings of 9 and 10 feet in height.
Roy Dickson explained that, "As Buckhead’s first community for independent seniors, residents focus on enjoyment of life without the maintenance burden of a home and grounds.” Twenty-four-hour concierge service assures residents of attention to any need. Doormen will welcome residents and guests, with valet parking available. An emergency call system and on-site emergency response provide safety and security. Housekeeping is included among Parc at Buckhead’s services. Parc at Buckhead does not include assisted living or health care.
Parc at Buckhead is the third residential development of Parc Communities, the leader in Atlanta luxury retirement communities. The first, Parc at Piedmont in Cobb County, opened four years ago, and the second, Parc at Duluth in Gwinnett County, opened in 2003. The company, founded in 2000, is owned by Prime Development Company, which is wholly owned by Mr. Dickson; John A. Williams; and Minerva Real Estate Investments.
